We finally had a beautiful sunny Saturday in Seattle, it was amazing! I'm pretty sure the entire city was outside yesterday, and about a quarter of it was at Mount Si.
Ellie and I hiked up Mount Si which is 8 miles round-trip and a 3150 foot elevation gain. I like to push myself, so in short, Ellie and I both worked our butts off! There was lots of snow the last mile of the hike which was even more of a challenge because it was sure slippery. Of course, Ellie made it look easy.
We ran the whole way down and Ellie crashed out in the car on the drive back. I made a well-deserved stop at Dairy Queen on the way back and Ellie got a doggy cone. :)
And today is Ellie's gotcha day, I got her two years ago! Happy 2 years to my doggylove :)

Wordless Wednesday: New office chair
I have replaced my chair with an exercise ball at work and now Ellie has a new favorite spot in the office.

Wordless Wednesday: Ball stuck inside another ball
Ellie's rubber ball has a hole chewed in it just large enough for me to have stuffed her tennis ball inside. She was very confused.

Hiking season is back!
Today we finally went on our first hike of the year and I am so excited about getting back outside and exploring again. I had forgotten about how much I love it!
We went to Rattlesnake Ledge which is only 4 miles round trip, and it's pretty easy.
The sun was out in Seattle so I got a little excited, but on the 30-mile drive there, I drove through heavy rain showers, then sun, then grey skies, so I had no idea what to expect.
Unfortunately, when I got there, I noticed some snow on the ground. Uh oh! Despite the cold and getting hit with snowballs (as it melted off the trees) it was a good hike and we had a great time! We didn't linger long at the top because the view was obstructed by clouds, it was cold, and there was a good 3-4 inches of snow.
I'm looking forward to many more hikes this year!
UPDATE: Added photo of me and Ellie at the top! :)
