Sunshine!

The sun is finally out and it's officially summer!

Yesterday, Jon and I went on a long walk to get ice cream on the pier and brought Ellie along. She was happy to be taken on a walk, but a little lethargic due to the warmth, and the fact that I made her wear her Halti. It was a nice after-work adventure (and tasty)!

There were a few times that I felt really badly for Ellie and her Halti - including a time that she spotted a pigeon. Her ears perked up.
Her eyes narrowed in.
She started to lower her body in "stalk" mode.
She was ready to pounce as soon as I gave a little tug on the leash to redirect her head. I could practically hear her sigh and say "mom, I hate this head collar thing."

Dogs and deer can't be friends

Today mom realized she's not very good at keeping up with a blog. :\

so i'm trying to step in for her! this weekend we went on a trip to a place called "orcas island" - it was a REALLY long drive, then a long ride on a boat (but i had to sit in the car) and then another long drive! i got to sniff around lots of land, and go to the beach, and put my paws in the cold water, it was really salty and icky!

i also saw lots of dogs with no leash and no moms! i wanted to play with them soooo badly, but mom wouldn't let me off my leash, and then the dogs ran away. oh. also mom says they are called "deer".

anyway, i'm back at moms work now, and i'm bored because there is no one here to play with me. i keep hearing other dogs that get to play and i wanna join them, but when i cry mom just makes me lay in my bed :(

well that's all for now guys! if you wanna see my pics, check out my twitter account twitpics, @ellie_dog

It's just another manic Monday

Today, we get to the office and there is a new Shih Tzu poking his cute little face out. Ellie got to say hello and was very pleased to meet him. Then we continued about our day.

Mid-morning rolls around and we are told to switch desks (something I had been anticipating) but this was very stressful to poor Ellie.

I put her outside; she stood at the glass door and whined.

I put her in a co-worker's office; she stood at the gate and whined.

Finally, I was able to sit down at my new desk for a few minutes, giving Ellie some peace and rest, until I was suddenly alerted to the fact that I needed to take a short trip to pick up some things with a co-worker. I gently left Ellie a treat and snuck out of my new workspace.

When I returned, I saw Ellie poking around outside (in the enclosed area) which let me know that she did not do well at my desk. She cried and cried and cried. (I feel bad for disrupting others!)

But now I've been back at the desk for a few hours and she is just fine! It's just one of those days.

The start of a new blog

Welcome to our new blog!

Ellie and I are having so many nutty adventures on a daily basis, I thought it might be a good idea to start documenting them in a blog. Plus, we just got internet at home (and a new laptop!) which makes regularly updating a blog a little easier.

Welcome to our world and we can't wait to meet you and for you to meet us! :)
