Despite Ellie's blindness, we decided to bring her with us to all of our Christmas festivities and play it by ear. Fortunately, she did
very well at both my dad's house and Chris' parent's house! Who knew blind dogs could detect walls and furniture without crashing into them first?!
Here are the photos I got throughout the day:

Getting some love from my sister |

Being surprisingly calm amongst the chaos |
|
Taking a short nap by the fire. Meanwhile everyone else is tearing through presents and being extremely noisy. What a good dog! |

She found a place to rest her head |

Testing this video. Ellie's favorite toy we got for Christmas! |

Unrelated but I must toot my own horn. I am awesome at gift wrapping. This was a pea coat for Chris. |
And on December 26th, Ellie slept ALL day long!
I am so glad you got to pawticipate too!

Oh wow! You are an awesome gift wrapper.
ReplyDeleteI had a blind Golden that did farely well negotiating new things. The vet thought she could see some light and dark. We only limited her activites because she also suffered seizures when she got too excited.
